Beer of the Week

Hallo (as they say in Dutch),

I would like to start a weekly post devoted to beer.

This weeks beer is..... duh duh duh daaaa!

La Trappe Tripel!

Style: Trappistenbier (Abbey Ale) Tripple: means that they use triple the barley normally used.

ABV: 8%

Aroma: Fruity almost wheaty with minor blends of carmel

Taste: Simple but deep fruit flavor (slight apple notes). Moderate body (considering the 8% alcohol adds punch)

Head Retention: Moderate or slightly under.

Bitterness: Not very bitter, letting the depth of the barley take over.

Ingredients: Water, Malted Barley, hops, yeast, coriander. (they do lose credit in my book for not sticking to the main 4 and adding coriander)

Side Notes: Its a two and done after dinner beer. Somewhat filling but decent drinkability considering its alcohol content.

Overall Rating: 8.1 out of 10 wooden shoes (good beer!)

The end!
